Temporary Accommodation Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled Temporary Accommodation Officer to join our team at Carrington West. As a key member of our housing team, you will be responsible for the management of temporary accommodation properties and ensuring tenants receive the support they need.

The Role
  • Oversee the smooth operation of temporary accommodation, including lettings, tenancy management, and rent collection, to ensure compliance with housing legislation.
  • Manage void properties efficiently, reducing reliance on Bed & Breakfast accommodations and minimizing costs.
  • Collaborate with landlords, contractors, and other stakeholders to maintain property standards and facilitate repairs, ensuring a high-quality service for tenants.
  • Handle tenancy breaches, such as anti-social behaviour, harassment, or domestic abuse, in partnership with other teams and agencies, prioritizing tenant safety and well-being.
  • Support vulnerable tenants by liaising with social services and other care providers, ensuring safeguarding for adults and children, and providing access to relevant services.
  • Monitor performance of temporary accommodation providers, enforcing contracts to maintain the quality of the service and ensuring value for money.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Proven experience in managing temporary accommodation, handling tenancy issues, and working with vulnerable tenants in diverse, urban communities.
  • In-depth knowledge of housing law, tenancy law, and temporary accommodation management, including income maximization and fraud prevention.
  • A degree or equivalent experience, evidence of continuous professional development, and a full, clean UK driving license with access to a car for business purposes.
