About the Position

Hired by Horizon Teachers, this Support Worker for Students with Additional Needs role involves supporting students with Special Educational Needs, specifically those with ASD and ADHD, in a secondary school setting. This position requires a skilled and dedicated individual who can help students access the curriculum effectively and develop their academic and social skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver one-on-one and small group support to students with ASD and ADHD, enhancing their ability to engage with the curriculum.
  • Collaborate with the classroom teacher to create tailored lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students with additional learning requirements.
  • Provide emotional support and contribute to the overall well-being of students, ensuring they feel valued and supported.
  • Partner with SENCOs and other educators to implement and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapt teaching methods to suit students' unique learning styles.
  • Nurture positive relationships between students, staff, and parents to promote a cohesive and inclusive community.

Requirements:
  • Prior experience working with students with ASD and ADHD in an educational context, preferably in a secondary school setting.
  • A solid grasp of SEN principles and effective behavior management techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong connections with colleagues and students alike.

Estimated Salary: £38,500 per annum
