Quantity Surveyor Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our client's team in Brentwood, Essex. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering planned works and refurbishments to tenanted properties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Control all expenditure and reconcile cost/value reports and profit forecasts.
  • On-board sub-contractors and suppliers, ensuring value for money and financial assessments.
  • Manage day-to-day cost control and monitoring, reporting to stakeholders as necessary.
  • Process sub-contractor requests for payment via application and invoice.
  • Attend project and company-related meetings, maintaining professional relationships with clients and customers.
  • Ensure timely cash flow management and maintain accurate records.
Requirements:
  • Degree or other technical qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a main contractor, with a strong commercial awareness.
  • Contractual awareness and negotiating, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management and RICS/CIOB qualification (preferred).
