Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Major Trauma Service team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to the assessment and treatment pathway for patients referred to the major trauma team.

Main Duties

  • Conduct timely biopsychosocial assessments and risk management plans for adults aged 16 and over, referred from the major trauma unit.
  • Provide expert advice and support to referring clinicians, promoting a safe and effective service throughout the team.
  • Maintain a visible, professional presence, providing assistance, advice, and support to patients, carers, and staff.
  • Contribute to the multi-disciplinary clinical assessment and management of patients referred to the service, in collaboration with other team members.
  • Develop effective care plans in collaboration with local mental health services and other agencies.
  • Support data collection for the research component of the programme.
