Based in Gloucestershire, GET STAFFED ONLINE RECRUITMENT LIMITED is the premier choice for electrical and repair solutions, trusted by a consortium of FTSE 100 insurance firms.

They are now looking for a highly skilled and experienced Technical Manager to join the team and lead on a variety of agricultural, commercial and residential electrical projects, consisting primarily of solar but to include other renewable energy technologies.

This role is on a permanent, full-time basis based in their head office in Gloucester.

The Role
  • You will oversee renewable energy installations, maintenance, and repair work, ensuring compliance with UK regulations and safety standards.
  • As a Qualified Supervisor, you will process and manage all types of electrical certification, including Minor Works Certificates, Electrical Installation Certificates, and EICR certificates for solar installations and insurance works.
  • You will oversee and verify the quality of electrical installations and services by auditing, inspecting, testing, and certifying electrical systems ensuring compliance with MCS, NICEIC, and current IET Wiring Regulations (18th Edition) standards.
  • You will oversee and carry out electrical installations, fault finds, remedials, and maintenance work in agricultural, commercial, and residential settings ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
  • As an MCS notified technical person, you will be responsible for all technical operations associated with the MCS Contractor's design and/or installation of a given technology.
  • As an MCS Nominee, you will have overall responsibility for ensuring the MCS Contractor is compliant with MCS requirements (technical and non-technical) and act as the primary point of contact between the MCS Contractor and Certification Body.
  • You will manage, develop, and provide technical support and guidance to our installation and administration teams, offering mentoring where required.
  • You will support and train sales teams on technical requirements of renewable energy installations.
  • You will attend site surveys as required for complex installations.
  • You will report to the senior management team and provide support to the wider business as required.
  • You will perform duty manager role as part of a rota.
  • You will communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, manufacturers, contractors, stakeholders, and team members.
  • You will monitor industry trends and regulatory requirements in both traditional electrical and renewable energy sectors to ensure compliance and optimal solutions are provided.

About You
  • To be considered for this role, you will need a Level 3 qualification such as NVQ, EAL, C&G or equivalent.
  • You will need proven experience of exceptional fault finding and troubleshooting skills across both traditional electrical and solar PV.
  • You will need strong knowledge of UK electrical regulations and standards.
  • You will need strong understanding of electrical systems, codes, and regulations, as well as solar PV technologies and installations.
  • You will need proficiency in Microsoft 365.
  • You will need a full, valid driving licence.
