The National Oceanography Centre is seeking a highly skilled Marine Physics and Climate Specialist to join its team in Southampton. As a key member of the Marine Physics and Ocean Climate Group, you will contribute to the delivery of projects and support the Principal Investigator in scientific leadership and management.

Job Highlights:
  • Conduct research on the ocean's role in the climate system, focusing on heat uptake and circulation variability.
  • Support the development of a personal portfolio of research funding and assist with project leadership and scientific management.
  • Participate in research cruises and analyze data from GO-SHIP repeat hydrography, Argo, and the RAPID array.

The estimated annual salary for this position is £41,000 - £46,000, depending on experience.

About the Role:

This role is designed for a talented research scientist who is an emerging or potential Principal Investigator. You will undertake novel research to deliver funded programs and assist the Principal investigator with the scientific leadership and management of those multi-centre and international programs.
