Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team at the Northern Ireland Housing Executive (NIHE) in Newtownards. This is a part-time position, 20 hours per week, available on an ongoing temporary contract basis.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective commercial management of Planned Works and Compliance related investment to NIHE properties. This will involve:
- Preparing specifications, drawings, bills of quantities, and schedule of rates for tender invitations;
- Providing support for contract interpretation and risk management;
- Ensuring the affordable delivery of investment programs and effective budget management;
- Receiving and evaluating tenders, preparing agreements, and administering contracts;
- Collaborating with contractors and consultants to ensure effective project progress.
To be considered for this position, you should possess a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a Building/Construction related discipline, plus at least 1 year of relevant post-qualification experience. Alternatively, you may have a BTEC Higher or equivalent qualification in a construction related discipline, plus at least 2 years of relevant post-qualification experience. Exceptionally, individuals with 3+ years of relevant experience may be considered.
You must also demonstrate a minimum of 1 year's experience in planning and delivering value for money construction programs, as well as responsibility for designated budgets and financial controls within NEC 3/4 construction contracts.
What We Offer:This position offers an immediate start and the opportunity to work with Northern Ireland's largest social landlord on an ongoing temporary contract basis. You will be paid via Hays on a weekly basis for all hours worked.
