This position involves working as a Consultant Histopathology for the Department of Diagnostic and Molecular Pathology at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust in Truro, Cornwall. The laboratory is a designated centre for many Cancer sites and has full UKAS Accreditation.
Key Responsibilities
As a Consultant Histopathology, you will undertake molecular automated PCR for theranostic work and tumour expression analysis. You will also provide an EUS and EBUS rapid onsite evaluation service for pancreatic, lung, adrenal & head/neck cases. Additionally, you will provide pathology support for Bowel Cancer Screening programme including age expansion and Bowel Scope Screening. Furthermore, you will work collaboratively with neighbouring hospitals to procure an end-to-end digital Histopathology solution, which will connect all 5 Trusts within the region, facilitating the sharing of cases, MDT discussion & expert 2nd opinion.
Requirements
You must be fully registered with a licence to practise with the GMC and hold FRCPath or show evidence of equivalent qualification. You must also be on GMC specialist register or within 6 months of interview date. Applicants that are UK trained must be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview. Applicants that are non-UK trained will be required to show evidence of equivalence to the UK CCT. Experience of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching is also essential. In addition, you must have knowledge of GI &/or dermatopathology. A generous relocation bonus up to £8,000 may be applicable if necessary.
