Job Title: Kinship Care Social Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic social worker to join our Kinship Care team in the East of England. As a Kinship Care Social Worker, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and stability of children in kinship care arrangements.

About the Role:

As a Kinship Care Social Worker, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments of children and their families, developing and implementing tailored care plans, and providing emotional and practical support to kinship carers. You will work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure the best possible outcomes for children.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct assessments of children and their families to evaluate the suitability of kinship placements.
  • Develop and implement care plans that meet the specific needs of children and kinship carers.
  • Provide emotional and practical support to kinship carers, offering guidance on available services and resources.
  • Maintain regular contact with families and external agencies, facilitating a collaborative approach to care.
  • Carry out regular reviews and home visits to monitor the success and well-being of children in kinship arrangements.
Requirements:
  • BA (Hons) in Social Work or an equivalent qualification.
  • Registered with Social Work England (mandatory).
  • Proven experience in kinship care, fostering, child protection, or a related area.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, families, and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills for assessing and planning care.
