Adult Services Deputy Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our Phlebotomy Team as an Adult Services Deputy Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in managing people, dealing with HR situations, and a basic understanding of NHS finances and recruitment. They will be responsible for ensuring that the Phlebotomy Service is provided and maintained in accordance with Trust policies and procedures, and in line with good Phlebotomy practice.
Main Responsibilities- Collection of blood by finger or arm venepuncture on adults and children on hospital wards, outpatients, and GP surgery settings. Recording and labelling of samples.
- Collection of relevant statistics.
- Delivery of samples to the laboratory generally by hand, via the hospital vacuum air tube system, by portering staff, and transport systems.
- Understand and apply health and safety responsibilities as these relate to the performance of your duties.
- Assist and support the training officer in the training of new team members.
- Assist in the preparation of the daily rotas and assist in their management.
- Work with the Phlebotomy Services Manager in the following areas: Assist with monthly rotas, booking leave, and compiling daily statistics. Use of relevant Trust IT systems to record daily statistics and to trace patients.
- English, Mathematics, Science to GCSE level (Grade 9 - 4)
- Trained to a diploma level in a healthcare setting.
- Some experience of management, including managing change and problem solving.
- Personnel procedures e.g. professional conduct, disciplinary, sickness and absence.
- Management of health and safety.
- Basic understanding of management of a budget.
Salary: £26,530 to £29,114 per annum/pro rata
Contract: Permanent
