Apprentice Commercial Quantity Surveyor

Morrison Energy Services is seeking a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial Team in Scotland.
As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in assisting the Commercial Department and project team to maximise profit and reduce risk.
Key Responsibilities- Compile relevant information for preparation of reports and claims to agreed timescales.
- Assist with the implementation of commercial applications and develop lasting relationships with Business Unit and Project Managers.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and refer to the project risk management plan.
- Manage sub-contractor relationships and ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
- Develop knowledge of commercial issues and contract law to manage compensation events and variations.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and suggest efficient solutions.
- Liaise with the Commercial Manager and Quantity Surveyor(s) to ensure commercial cover is maintained.
- Assist with the recovery of contract costs and enhance project profit.
- Produce monthly project financial and forecast reports for analysis.
- Develop a site commercial manual and document variations.
- Excellent negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and financial awareness.
- Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Contract costing and contract law knowledge.
- Previous experience in Quantity Surveying or Cost Clerk roles.
- Contract experience, capturing site records, and supporting project teams.
- Sub-contract management and cost/value reconciliation.
- Qualification in Quantity Surveying and graduate or graduate calibre.
- Full UK driving license and knowledge of the industry.
- 25 days' annual leave plus 8 days' bank holiday.
