Job Title: Managing Quantity Surveyor

M Group Services is seeking a highly skilled Managing Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial Team. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in maximizing profit and reducing risk on our projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Compile relevant information for reports and claims, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Develop lasting relationships with Business Unit and Project Managers, ensuring seamless communication.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments, monitoring the register and related documentation.
  • Manage sub-contractors, ensuring compliant quotations and documentation.
  • Stay up-to-date with commercial issues and contract law, managing compensation events and variations.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, minimizing time-consuming tasks.
  • Liaise with the Commercial Manager and Quantity Surveyor(s) to ensure adequate commercial cover.
  • Assist in recovering contract costs and enhancing project profit.
  • Produce monthly project financial and forecast reports for analysis.
  • Develop strong negotiating skills and attend handover and progress meetings as required.
  • Contribute to the development of a site commercial manual and documents.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures, including OHSAS 18001, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001.
Requirements:
  • Excellent negotiating, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and financial awareness.
  • Proficiency in IT, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Contract costing and contract law knowledge.
  • Previous experience in Quantity Surveying or Cost Clerk roles.
  • Contract experience, capturing site records for variations and valuations.
  • Sub-contract management and cost/value reconciliation skills.
  • Qualification in Quantity Surveying and graduate or graduate calibre.
  • Full UK driving license and knowledge of the industry.
