Project Lead - Senior Ecologist

We are seeking an experienced Senior Ecologist to lead our project teams and deliver high-quality ecological assessments for a range of clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects throughout their life-cycle, providing advice on ecology and biodiversity to clients and stakeholders.
  • Plan, lead on, and conduct ecological surveys, including environmental impact assessments and biodiversity net gain assessments.
  • Prepare a range of ecological reports and strategies, including Preliminary Ecological Appraisal (PEA) reports and Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA).
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, as well as with contractors and regulatory bodies.

Requirements:

  • Degree level or higher in Ecology or a related field.
  • At least 4-5 years working in ecological consultancy, with proven experience in project management, including for medium to large scale and complex sites.
  • Experienced in advising clients on Biodiversity Net Gain.
  • Advanced knowledge of ecology and wildlife protection in the context of the UK legislative and planning system.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office software and preferably some knowledge of GIS packages.
  • Membership or eligibility to membership of a relevant professional body, such as the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM).
