Care Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Care Assistant to join our client's support package to provide personal care and support in their own home. As a Care Assistant, you will be responsible for providing a wide range of tasks that can vary day to day, requiring flexibility and a strong sense of responsibility.
Key Responsibilities- Administration of medication
- Moving and handling with hoist
- Gastrostomy care / PEG feeding
- Personal care
- Assisting in the community
- Administrative duties
- Lighthouse work
Ideally, you will have previous experience with Status Epilepticus and practical experience of giving Buccal Midazolam, as well as the ability to identify and understand a medical emergency.
Requirements- Excellent communication skills
- Friendliness and dynamism with a strong personality and common sense
- At least 6 months of complex care experience, including dealing with seizures, PEG feed, catheter, and administering medication
- Enhanced DBS disclosure required
- Commitment to long-term care for one client in a person-centered way
- Willingness to be trained to CQC standards to meet the client's needs
- Reliability, non-judgmental, caring, responsible, and compassionate
- Commitment to confidentiality and treating the client with dignity and respect
We offer a competitive hourly rate of 16.15 for daytime Monday to Friday shifts and 19.23 for waking nights, as well as a company pension scheme, enhanced bank holiday payments, and annual leave paid at 5.6 weeks per annum based on contracted hours.
We also provide full support and supervision from your dedicated Regional Care Lead, training and full support from your local HCD Community Nurse Assessor, career pathway options, a personal development plan, and 24-hour on-call support.
