About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Care Assistant to join our team at Perthyn. As a Care Assistant, you will play a vital part in providing support that improves people's ability to manage daily tasks and enables them to experience independent living and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support people with the same respect you would want for yourself or a member of your family.
  • Treat each person as an individual by offering a personalised service.
  • Have a zero tolerance of all forms of abuse.
  • Enable people to achieve the maximum possible level of independence, choice, and control.
  • Listen and support people to express their needs and wants.
  • Respect people's right to privacy.
  • Work in partnership with family members and involved supporters.
  • Help people to get up, get ready and to get out and about in their community.
  • Support people to learn new life skills at home such as things like cooking, cleaning, DIY, and in their community, hobbies and interests, socialising, and shopping.

What We Offer

  • Full and part-time posts, with a full-time basic salary of £23,861.00.
  • Flexible zero-hour contracts are available to accommodate personal circumstances.
  • Opportunity to maximise your earnings – Earn approximately an additional £3,000 per annum by completing 1 weekly sleep in, £6,000 for 2 sleeps in shifts a week.
  • Availability of overtime – e.g., 1 shift a week = an additional £4,000 per year.
  • Double-time payment when working on a Bank Holiday, triple time during Christmas Day.
  • A generous holiday scheme. Annual leave starting at 22 days, plus Bank Holidays (raising to 26 days).
  • Sleep in shifts paid in addition, at £60 per night.
  • Average earnings paid when on holiday, you don't lose out on overtime or sleep in allowances.

  • Occupational sick pay, up to 3 months full and 3 months half pay.

Requirements

  • A full UK manual drivers licence.
