Key Responsibilities:- Be the primary point of contact for Product Safety Assurance of equipment design, ensuring customer requirements are met.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to the wider business and external stakeholders on safety considerations.
- Integrate safety considerations into the design process, taking into account the entire product lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain the Project Safety Management System for equipment design and delivery.
- Evolve working practices to ensure cost-effective product safety management.
- Resolve complex Product Safety engineering issues, compile technical reports, and present findings.
- Cultivate safety arguments for various equipment, utilizing all aspects of the product safety lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, business, and customer safety standards for heavy-duty equipment.
- Collaborate with a team of Product Safety Engineers across the business.
- Proven expertise in Product Safety Engineering, with a track record of delivering a Product Safety Management System in a complex environment.
- Significant knowledge of applicable legislation and standards, including HASAWA, COSHH, REACh, BS EN 61508, and Def Stan.
- Degree qualified in a relevant Engineering/Systems/Safety discipline.
- CEng or equivalent experience, with a short-term goal of achieving it.
- Membership of a relevant industry-wide body, such as SCSC, SaRS, IET, or IMechE.
