Ecology Manager Role

LEAD Careers is representing a client seeking an experienced Ecology Manager to join their team. This is a remote-based opportunity offering a competitive salary in the range of £40,000 to £55,000.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead ecological assessments, habitat surveys, and ecological impact assessments through a network of supporting ecological consultancies and direct involvement.
  • Conduct and oversee field surveys, including protected species and habitat assessments.
  • Produce and oversee the writing of concise, high-quality technical reports in line with CIEEM guidelines, including PEA, EcIA, mitigation strategies, and BNG Assessments.
  • Ensure projects delivered are compliant with relevant legislation, planning policies, and environmental legislation.
  • Grow the framework of ecology subcontractors and continue to build and maintain these relationships to deliver a range of projects.
  • Client liaison to provide good-quality advice on ecological issues and build and maintain relationships with clients.
Requirements:
  • A degree in Ecology or a closely related subject.
  • Level 2 Bat Licence.
  • Good level of proficiency in ecological surveying techniques, data analysis, and report writing, with a focus on PEA, Bat surveys, and BNG Assessments.
  • A solid understanding of UK wildlife legislation, planning regulations, and environmental best practice.
  • Excellent project management and delivery experience.
  • Attention to detail and committed to delivering a high-quality of work.
  • A full driver's licence.
