Senior Practitioner Psychologist

We are seeking an experienced Practitioner Psychologist to join our innovative community-based service for children with learning disabilities and their families. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to provide high-quality psychological assessments, formulations, and interventions. Key responsibilities include facilitating parent groups, supervising undergraduate psychology students, and providing psychological support to colleagues.
The post is based in Hailsham, but you will be required to travel across East Sussex. You will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of approaches, including Systemic, Positive Behaviour Support, and Mindfulness-based approaches. Our team is award-winning and comprised of Clinical Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists, and other specialists.
You will be supported in your role by experienced clinical psychologists and will work closely with other specialists within the service, CAMHS, and universal children's services. Professional development is encouraged through supervision, training, and team CPD.
The service provides a range of specialist psychological services, including:
- Psychological assessments and formulations for children presenting with challenging behaviours
- Multi-disciplinary interventions, including parent groups and family support
- Supervision of undergraduate psychology students, assistant psychologists, and trainee psychologists
- Psychological support and reflective space for colleagues
- Consultation and training to other agencies and services
The successful candidate will have experience working with children and young people with learning disabilities, Autism, and other complex needs. You will be able to work at a range of levels, from direct work with children and young people to working with parents and carers.
