Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Inventory Manager to join our dynamic team at Precon Products Ltd. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing stock levels, optimising stock control processes, and ensuring the efficient flow of goods within the organisation.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to support decision-making in inventory management. They will be responsible for building and maintaining good working relationships with new and existing suppliers, developing a thorough understanding of procurement administration duties and product maintenance, and analysing stocks across all depots to assist the Buyers with ensuring stock availability.

The salary for this position is estimated to be around £35,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus additional benefits such as company pension, cycle to work scheme, free parking, health & wellbeing programme, and on-site parking.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Stock Management: Build and maintain accurate stock records, monitor stock levels, and identify areas for improvement.
  2. Supplier Management: Develop and maintain good working relationships with new and existing suppliers, negotiate prices, and ensure timely deliveries.
  3. Procurement Administration: Understand procurement administration duties and product maintenance, including ordering, receiving, and storing products.
  4. Reporting and Analysis: Analyse sales data to make stocking recommendations, compile daily reports, and address stock discrepancies.

Requirements

  • Strong Communication Skills: Effective communication with internal stakeholders, including Buyers, Transport, and other departments.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
  • IT Skills: Proficient in Microsoft applications, including Excel, and able to learn new systems quickly.
  • Supply Chain Experience: Previous experience in supply chain or inventory management, preferably in a similar industry.
