Underwriter - Property & Casualty Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Underwriter to join our Property & Casualty team at CFC. As an Underwriter, you will play a critical role in developing and underwriting profitable business, working closely with the Head of Property & Casualty and your underwriting colleagues in a variety of areas, including new business development, building broker relationships, and responding to P&C queries from other product line underwriters.

  • Respond to new business enquiries and renewal submissions from brokers in a timely and professional manner, delivering a first-class service to produce quotations within agreed SLAs and authority parameters;
  • Prepare and deliver internal and external presentations on CFC products, key trends, and emerging exposures;
  • Contribute effectively to team performance standards;
  • Market P&C team capabilities through existing contacts and new relationships, including attending ad-hoc business trips in the UK and internationally as required;
  • Assist with the production of reports and statistics to support the monitoring of team performance.

About You

We are looking for driven, self-starters with a strong work ethic. You will have a strong knowledge of the Property and/or Casualty market and have been working within the insurance industry for at least 4-5 years - underwriting or broking commercial risks in this product line.

  • Articulate and influential - you're naturally comfortable presenting to small and large groups;
  • Strong work ethic with an ability to operate effectively under pressure;
  • Progression in professional examinations demonstrated (e.g. CII/ACII);
  • Above all, you're a team player with a passion for P&C business.
