About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team at Hays Accountancy and Finance. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in managing a portfolio of SME and limited company clients, overseeing the preparation of accounts, bookkeeping, and VAT returns, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of clients, providing accounting services, and ensuring timely delivery of accounts and VAT returns.
  • Oversee the work of junior team members, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality results.
  • Prepare accounts for review by the partner, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting regulations and best practices, ensuring compliance and adherence to industry standards.
Requirements
  • Qualified ACCA or ACA accountant with a minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Proven track record of managing a portfolio of clients and delivering high-quality results.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide insightful recommendations.
  • Proficient in accounting software, including Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary ranging from £30,000 to £35,000, depending on experience, as well as flexible working patterns, on-site parking, an annual bonus, and a healthy holiday package.
