Job Opportunity for Senior Healthcare Professional

In collaboration with Jupiter Recruitment, we are seeking a highly motivated Senior Healthcare Professional to join our team in an exceptional nursing home in the County Durham area.

This purpose-built residential care home specialises in Alzheimer's, learning disability, and dementia-related care. As a Senior Healthcare Professional, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to our residents, working closely with our dedicated team to ensure their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care and support to residents, adhering to their individual care plans
  • Deliver care through the night, checking residents at regular intervals according to their care plan
  • Respond promptly to calls for assistance, respecting residents' dignity and autonomy
  • Engage in conversations to maintain residents' sense of identity and uphold their dignity at all times
  • Assess and plan nursing care requirements, monitoring and administering medications as needed
  • Take residents' vital signs, including temperatures, pulses, and blood pressures
  • Write accurate records, providing clear and concise information about residents' care and progress
  • Supervise junior staff and manage the unit effectively, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow
  • Provide emotional support to residents and their relatives, building strong relationships and trust

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Team player with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, with a high degree of autonomy
  • Trained in medication administration, with a commitment to safe and effective practice
  • Experience in dementia care, with a deep understanding of the complexities and challenges involved
