Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Costing Accountant to join our Income, Costing and Contracts team. The successful candidate will support the Senior Costing Accountant in maintaining and reporting Patient Level Costing (PLICS) models for Service Line Reporting and National Cost Collection exercises.

Main Duties

The post holder will be responsible for supporting the Senior Costing Accountant in the maintenance of the Trust Patient Level Costing (PLICS) model for Service Line Reporting and National Cost Collection exercises. They will also provide expert knowledge of appropriate costing and use of standard cost information, and engage in analysis and benchmarking to broaden the information available.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative team that values expertise and innovation. The successful candidate will be based at Thames House in Teddington, with agile working arrangements allowing for approximately 50% office-based and 50% remote work. The role may also involve travel to other sites, including Kingston Hospital.

Qualifications

Essential
  • Part qualified in a recognised Professional Accountancy Qualification or has equivalent experience
  • Degree or equivalent
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
Experience

Essential
  • NHS Management Accounting
  • Practical experience of Costing
  • Presenting complex information to non-finance colleagues
  • Number of years management accounting experience
Desirable
  • Practical experience of NHS Costing
  • Experience with IQVIA costing software
  • Qlikview experience
Skills

Essential
  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication
  • Advanced spreadsheet skills
  • SQL query and Access database skills
  • Ability to undertake complex analysis of large volumes of data
  • Ability to tailor information to multiple audiences to communicate effectively
  • Able to build rapport and credibility with senior clinical and managerial teams
  • Effective time management
