Product Design Engineer - Drive Innovation

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Product Design Engineer to join our team in London. As a Product Design Engineer, you will be responsible for developing innovative solutions that meet our clients' needs. You will work closely with our team to create technically challenging and innovative products from early ideas to production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop inventive, practical, and feasible technical concepts
  • Research and source applicable technologies, suppliers, materials, and processes
  • Develop concepts into reliable and robust solutions, including 3D CAD modeling, prototype production, and testing
  • Balance human sciences, industrial design, and mechanical engineering inputs to deliver meaningful design solutions
  • Detail and specify design for manufacture, including engineering drawings, tolerances, and specifications
  • Communicate and present work to clients
  • Operate within the PDD quality system and wider regulatory framework
  • Interpret briefs, prepare proposals, plans, and requirements specifications
  • Manage project time and cost, lead and coordinate the team, and liaise with clients and subcontractors

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need a 1st or 2:1 Bachelor's degree in Product Design Engineering or equivalent. You should have excellent hand sketching skills, proficiency in 3D CAD modeling (Solidworks), and familiarity with materials and processes for injection molding, casting, machining, and fabrication. Excellent written and verbal presentation skills are also essential.
