Job Title: General Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Manager to join our team at Holroyd Howe, a leading contract caterer providing fresh and innovative food services to independent schools and colleges.

About the Role

As a General Manager, you will be responsible for leading our catering team to deliver exceptional customer service and high-quality food experiences to our students. You will work closely with our back-of-house team to develop well-balanced and nutritious menus that cater to diverse dietary requirements and preferences.

You will also be responsible for managing the catering budget, ensuring cost-effective operations while maintaining quality standards. Additionally, you will establish strong relationships with school Bursars, Head Teachers, and faculty to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the back-of-house team to develop menus that meet diverse dietary needs
  • Manage the catering budget to ensure cost-effective operations
  • Establish strong relationships with school stakeholders
  • Recruit, train, and supervise catering staff
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and quality control protocols
  • Identify opportunities for growth, innovation, and improvement in menu offerings and service delivery
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a General Manager or Deputy General Manager in a high-volume, quality-focused environment
  • Ability to manage, train, and support a team
  • Financially astute with analytical skills and budget management experience
  • Excellent coaching, delegation, and influencing skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and adapt to changing circumstances
  • Meticulous organizational abilities and attention to detail
  • Empathetic and effective verbal and written communication
