Job Title: General Manager

We are seeking an experienced General Manager to join our team at Holroyd Howe, a leading contract caterer providing fresh and innovative food services to independent schools and colleges.

About the Role

As a General Manager, you will be responsible for leading our catering team to deliver exceptional customer service and high-quality food experiences to our students. You will work closely with our chefs, kitchen staff, and other teams to develop and implement menus that cater to diverse dietary requirements and preferences.

You will also be responsible for managing the catering budget, ensuring cost-effective operations while maintaining quality standards. Additionally, you will establish strong relationships with school Bursars, Head Teachers, and faculty to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the back of house team to develop well-balanced and nutritious menus that cater to diverse dietary requirements and preferences.
  • Prepare and manage the catering budget, ensuring cost-effective operations while maintaining quality standards.
  • Establish strong relationships with school Bursars, Head Teachers, and faculty.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and motivate catering staff.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, hygiene standards, and quality control protocols.
  • Identify opportunities for growth, innovation, and improvement in menu offerings, service delivery, and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain strict adherence to health and safety regulations, ensuring a clean and organized kitchen environment.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a General Manager or Deputy General Manager in a high-volume, quality-focused environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, train, and support a team.
  • Financially astute, with strong analytical and budgeting skills.
  • Excellent coaching, delegation, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment.
  • Meticulous organizational abilities and a high attention to detail.
  • Empathetic, clear, and highly effective verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to adapt to challenges and opportunities with a solution-oriented perspective.
  • Excellent strategic thinking and critical reasoning skills.
