About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced physiotherapist to join our department within University Hospital Hairmyres and lead a team within Medicine for Older Adults. The team provides specialist assessment and treatment to a Medicine for Older Adults specialty - both acute and rehabilitation wards and will also be involved in developments within a frailty unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, manage, and deliver a specialist physiotherapy service as identified by the care group lead.
  • Introduce new approaches to physiotherapy access and process, increasing focus on health promotion and self-management.
  • Manage and organize an identified team employed to deliver the specialist physiotherapy service.
  • Be responsible for a highly specialized clinical caseload within their own area of clinical expertise.

What We're Looking For
  • A registered physiotherapist with valid HCPC registration.
  • Educated to/working towards/operating at degree level.
  • Postgraduate expertise within the speciality/area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safely, effectively, and efficiently.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality/area of practice.
  • Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies, and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice.
  • Management qualification or equivalent gained through experience and continuous professional development.
  • Further education/evidence of continuous professional development in the area of speciality.
  • Excellent teamwork/leadership skills and the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative.
  • Excellent listening, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Working knowledge of basic information technology.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Membership of relevant specialist interest group.
  • Evidence of training in supervision and leadership skills.
  • Member of CSP.
  • Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience of research and audit.
Contract Details
  • Fixed Term or Secondment for 8 months.
  • Part-Time.
  • 29.7 hours.
  • Please note this is a part-time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.
  • Please note this is a fixed term post for 8 months. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment.
Location and Working Pattern

This role will be based in the Physiotherapy Department within University Hospital Hairmyres.

The working pattern for this role Monday-Sunday 5/7.
