Job Title: Supply Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Supply Teaching Assistant to provide support to students with special educational needs in Plymouth.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to develop comprehensive support plans for students.
  • Foster social interactions and communication skills in a nurturing environment.
  • Assist with daily tasks, academic activities, and behaviour interventions, utilising diverse teaching methods tailored to SEN students' needs.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to cultivate a positive atmosphere.
  • Collaborate with SENCO, parents, and external agencies, maintaining detailed records of student progress and interventions.
  • Participate in ongoing mentorship and professional development to improve teaching skills and advance in the field of education.

Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills for clear interactions.
  • Priority given to applicants with a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
  • Demonstrated patience, empathy, flexibility, and adaptability.
  • Commitment to student success.
  • Experience working with individuals with severe learning difficulties or other SEN preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and empathy.
