Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Officer to provide accounting support to the Norwich Diocesan Board of Finance and Education Services.

The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in a finance role, preferably within the education finance sector, and hold an AAT or equivalent accounting degree.

The salary for this position is estimated at £25,123 to £27,652 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer procedures for payment of clergy remuneration and pension contributions.
  • Maintain records of clergy sickness absence and report on the same.
  • Complete Gift Aid and GASDS claims for the Diocese.
  • Monitor receipts of parochial fees and reconcile returns.
  • Provide support to PCC Treasurers in managing parish accounts.
  • Record and bank all income received.
  • Maintain and develop school building financial reporting systems.
  • Provide financial information to senior managers.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legal, tax, and accounting standards.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • AAT or equivalent accounting degree.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a finance role, preferably within the education finance sector.
  • Excellent communication skills and proficiency in financial software and spreadsheet applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and compliance requirements.
