As a key member of our legal team, you will play a crucial role in minimizing legal and regulatory risk and aligning with our business objectives.
Responsibilities:- Support our legal and compliance teams in their day-to-day activities, ensuring seamless workflow and efficient operations.
- Collaborate with the General Counsel and Head of Regulatory Affairs on various matters, including CoSec, data protection, and litigation.
- Work closely with the legal team on drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts, handling property affairs, and providing employment guidance.
- Assist the compliance team in monitoring, summarizing, and submitting responses to regulatory documents, ensuring awareness of regulatory obligations and compliance with changes.
- Keep the team updated on legal developments and help the General Counsel share information and knowledge with the business, delivering training as needed.
- Act as a trusted advisor and business partner to key stakeholders, ensuring legal and regulatory risk is minimized throughout the group.
- Support the General Counsel and Head of Regulatory Affairs in ensuring the group complies with regulatory requirements from various authorities, including Ofcom, Ofwat, Ofgem, WICS, and the FCA.
- A qualified solicitor with a strong academic record and several years of post-qualification experience.
- Relatable and positive experience working in a fast-paced, constantly changing organization.
- Some commercial experience, preferably in an in-house environment, with a wide range of prior experience.
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills.
- Ability to effectively manage a significant workload with excellent organizational skills.
