Vision Care Assistant

We are excited to announce a permanent full-time Vision Care Assistant position available at University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care. Your primary responsibilities will include data entry, eyesight testing, OCT scans, and other imaging procedures. You will also be required to travel between different working locations and work flexible hours, including weekends.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key duties:
1. Visual acuity testing and measuring intraocular pressure
2. Conducting OCT scans and other imaging procedures (including wide field imaging, autofluorescence imaging, and corneal imaging)
3. Assisting with data entry and management
4. Traveling between working locations and working flexible hours
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must have previous experience in ophthalmic care, a science-related A level (Grade C or above), and excellent computer skills. Additionally, you should possess the ability to learn new systems, understand confidentiality, and demonstrate empathy towards patients. Strong presentation skills, accuracy, and hand-eye coordination are also necessary for this position.
Estimated Annual Salary: £26,530 - £29,114 pa pro rata
