Key Responsibilities:

  • Field Work: Conduct and oversee field surveys, including protected species surveys, habitat assessments, and ecological monitoring, to gather data and inform project decisions.
  • Writing Reports: Prepare detailed ecological reports, impact assessments, and mitigation strategies, communicating complex information to clients and stakeholders.
  • Client Liaison: Build and maintain relationships with clients, providing expert advice and guidance on ecological issues, and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and support junior ecologists, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment, and contributing to the development of team members.
  • Compliance: Ensure projects comply with relevant legislation, planning policies, and environmental standards, and identify opportunities for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Proven experience within an ecological consultancy or a related field, with a strong understanding of UK wildlife legislation, planning regulations, and best practices in ecological management.
  • Qualifications: Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or related discipline, with a master's degree or PhD being advantageous.
  • Skills: Proficient in ecological survey techniques, data analysis, and report writing, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ecology Knowledge: Strong understanding of UK wildlife legislation, planning regulations, and best practices in ecological management.
  • Attitude: Proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality work with a positive impact.
