Job Title: Accounts Assistant

Location: Kirkham, Preston (fully office-based)

Hours/ Days: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our team at Agility Resourcing in Preston. As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Accounts Manager and ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process supplier invoices and allocate them against purchase orders.
  • Raise any invoice queries with suppliers and resolve them in a timely manner.
  • Certify subcontractor applications for payment with respective project managers.
  • Process and pay labour-only subcontractor invoices on a weekly basis.
  • Issue on-site labour timesheets weekly to project managers for approval.
  • Liaise with clients and the team to ensure all required information is gathered.
  • Support with processing the monthly payroll.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in an accounts/payroll assistant role or similar.
  • Great systems experience, ideally including an accounts/payroll system.
  • Confident user of MS Office and IT systems.
  • Strong numeracy skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work at pace, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Highly organised and able to plan and manage own workload.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow processes accurately and consistently.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and key contacts across the business.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and propose solutions.
  • Energy, enthusiasm, and confidence.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting procedures.
  • Experience/knowledge of Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) is desirable.
