Job Description

At Brown & Brown Europe, we are seeking a highly skilled Professional Risks Team Leader to join our successful and experienced centralised team based in Bath.

This is a long-term and progressive opportunity with a stable and reputable broker. The ideal candidate will have good PI knowledge from broking or underwriting and enjoy the challenge of being a central point of contact and leading others.

The day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Meeting and delivering against agreed Renewal Retention and/or New Business Targets, contributing towards the team's overall budget targets & KPI's
  • Completing all roles and tasks as required by the line manager, ensuring adherence to Higos procedures and policies at all times
  • Creating a customer-led culture where sales and customer standards, discipline, activities, and best practice are delivered
  • Complying and managing team credit control
  • Debt Management - ensuring all monies are collected and allocated appropriately and keeping the line manager informed of any current, potential or perceived problems with bad debt
  • Managing and prioritising diaries/tasks, keeping them up to date
  • Auditing staff 1 per month and providing feedback / carrying out Annual and Mid-Year reviews with team members
  • Managing staffing levels, including recruitment
  • Completing any necessary training and preparing for regular 1-2-1s and year-end reviews

Requirements:

  • Good working knowledge of Professional Risks Insurances
  • Experience in either Broking or Underwriting or both with PI and/or Financial Lines Insurances
  • A wide knowledge of commerce and industry and familiarity with as well as ability to study the market and forecast economic trends
  • Ability to develop and maintain business contacts and goodwill
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prepare and present reports
  • Pro-active and self-motivated
  • Strong planning and organisation skills to meet deadlines
  • Attention to detail
  • Co-operative and supportive team player
