Safety Case Manager

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Safety Case Manager to join our team on a permanent basis, working on major projects.
Purpose and Scope:The Safety Case Manager will be responsible for developing and delivering core radiological safety case capability and support to programmes, projects, and Amentum UK's growth aspirations.
Key Responsibilities:- Act as a safety case manager, safety case author, or Independent Verifier as required for project support.
- Support programme and project safety case leads in strategic planning and delivery.
- Assist the Head of Profession in capability development, resource strategies, recruitment plans, and competence establishment.
- Identify, implement, review, and monitor Amentum and programme-specific management and technical arrangements to support delivery.
- Prepare and coordinate safety documentation delivery for projects, interfacing with engineering, project management, project controls, and document management functions.
- Advise Amentum leadership, engineering, programme, and project management, and clients on regulatory compliance, standards, and guidance.
- Assist safety case assurance through project, programme, and corporate requirements.
- Define and develop interfaces between related functions, including engineering and projects, to ensure work is delivered.
- Support clients in interactions with regulators and safety committees, and support Amentum business development as required.
- Ideal degree (or equivalent education).
- Proven experience in nuclear fire safety assessment, nuclear safety assessment, and conventional fire safety assessment and management.
- Experience in applying codes and assessment in a wide range of operations and fault scenarios.
- Experience in two or more UK Nuclear Site Licensee Organisations.
- Knowledge of conventional fire safety assessment.
- Experience in managing staff and contractors.
- Knowledge of nuclear hazard identification and analytical tools.
- Solid understanding of UK nuclear site licensing, safety assessment principles, regulatory guidance on safety assessment, and nuclear Site Licence Conditions.
- Knowledge of regulatory permissioning/flexible permissioning.
- Ability to gain and retain Security Clearance and willingness to obtain Developed Vetting.
- Travel will be required, up to several days at a time in the UK and occasional overseas travel.
- Supervisory experience, good oral and written communication skills, including presentation and report writing, and good MS applications, organisational skills, and ability to perform detail-oriented work.
- Experience of safety case in civil reactors and defence sector.
- Previous working knowledge of UK nuclear new build.
- Experience of international nuclear safety assessment, project management, and project controls.
- Stakeholder management and ability to mentor and coach.
