Amentum is a leading global technical and engineering services partner.

We are seeking a highly skilled Safety Case Manager to join our team on a permanent basis.

Purpose and Scope:

The Safety Case Manager will be responsible for developing and delivering core radiological safety case capability to our programmes and projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage safety cases for projects, including safety case author and independent verifier roles.
  • Support programme and project safety case leads in strategic planning and delivery.
  • Assist the Head of Profession in capability development and resource strategy implementation.
  • Identify and implement management and technical arrangements to support project delivery.
  • Prepare and coordinate safety documentation for projects, interfacing with engineering, project management, and document management functions.
  • Advise Amentum leadership and clients on regulatory compliance, standards, and guidance.
  • Support safety case assurance through project, programme, and corporate requirements.
  • Define and develop interfaces between related functions to ensure work delivery.
  • Support client interactions with regulators and safety committees.

Requirements:

  • Degree (or equivalent education) and proven experience in nuclear fire safety assessment.
  • Experience in applying codes and assessment in various operations and fault scenarios.
  • Experience in two or more UK Nuclear Site Licensee Organisations.
  • Knowledge of conventional fire safety assessment and nuclear hazard identification tools.
  • Ability to gain and retain Security Clearance and willingness to obtain Developed Vetting.
  • Travel required, up to several days at a time in the UK and occasional overseas travel.

Desirable:

  • Experience in safety case development in civil reactors and defence sector.
  • Previous working knowledge of UK nuclear new build.
  • Experience in international nuclear safety assessment and project management.
