Damp and Mould Remediation Specialist

At Daniel Owen Ltd, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Damp and Mould Manager to join our team in South East London. This is a brand new role that requires a strategic lead to manage all damp and mould cases, ensuring a customer-focused service and structurally managed cases to completion.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and guide a new team to deliver high-standard core services.
- Manage two damp and mould surveyors, two administrators, and oversee specialist in-house D&M operatives.
- Embrace a zero-tolerance approach to D&M, ensuring outputs align with legislative standards.
- Stay up-to-date with new guidance and legislation, adapting processes to meet statutory obligations and customer safety.
- Identify trends in D&M occurrences and focus on permanent solutions to prevent re-occurrence.
- Work closely with the Housing Team to manage issues collectively and resolve customer concerns.
- Responsible to the Head of Property for key performance targets, monitoring reports, and action plans.
- Take a lead role in setting and monitoring maintenance budgets and contributing to Value for Money efficiencies.
- Procure partnering contractors for complex D&M remedial works and manage contractor performance.
- At least 5 years' experience in property maintenance.
- Experience in successfully managing a technical team.
- Thorough understanding of damp and mould causation and remediation solutions.
- Proven track record of delivering and embedding new projects.
- Demonstratable experience in root cause analysis and diagnosing complex building defects.
- Understanding of building pathology and design.
- Demonstratable experience in procuring contracts and knowledge of applicable routes to procurement.
- Ability to review current working practices and implement new processes.
- Experience in managing contractor performance using contract management frameworks.
