About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Damp and Mould Remediation Specialist to join our team at Reed. As a key member of our property maintenance team, you will be responsible for undertaking complex damp and mould surveys and producing high-quality schedules of works.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake thorough damp and mould surveys to identify and remediate causes of damp and mould.
  • Lead on the delivery of damp and mould remedial works, ensuring customer safety and adherence to legislative standards.
  • Manage damp and mould cases from start to finish, including inspections and validation of remedial actions.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve customer issues and ensure effective communication.
  • Stay up-to-date with new guidance and legislation, adapting processes accordingly.
  • Develop proactive approaches to combat damp and mould with external agencies and partners.
  • Utilize and develop IT systems to manage caseload effectively.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in property maintenance, with expertise in identifying and remedying causes of damp and mould.
  • Ability to produce high-quality defect analysis reports and schedules of works.
  • Understanding of the Legal disrepair process and ability to produce Scott Schedules.
  • Demonstrable experience in root cause analysis and diagnosing complex building defects.
  • Knowledge of traditional and modern construction practices in housing.
  • Familiarity with common procurement routes for maintenance works.
  • Experience in specifying and installing mechanical ventilation measures.
  • Thorough understanding and application of CDM regulations.
  • Ability to draft tender documents/specifications/schedules of works and manage works.
  • Flexibility to work outside standard hours, including evening meetings.
Qualifications
  • Minimum HNC in construction, building, or equivalent experience.
Working Arrangements
  • Essential car use (vehicle not provided).
