The Opportunity

Leonardo is seeking a highly skilled DSE and Ergonomics Assessor to join our team in Edinburgh, with occasional travel to our Newcastle site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver DSE assessments, improvements, and work within a HSE function.
  • Provide support and guidance on various DSE and Ergonomic issues.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders across sites, promoting a positive culture and best practice.
  • Contribute to the implementation, monitoring, and measurement of the DSE process.
  • Monitor the completion of training and risk assessment packages for each location.
  • Supply reports to management on training and risk assessments completed, users still outstanding.
  • Assess individual needs based on risk assessment answers.
  • Arrange in-person or virtual DSE assessments with users with discomfort issues and write up reports.
  • Maintain an Excel spreadsheet of DSE assessments and status progress.
  • Regularly run reports on PACE (Cardinus reporting system) on status of completion.
  • Monitor auto emails generated by Cardinus and send approval emails to users with manager cc'd.
  • Send regular updates to managers with Cardinus risk-assessments outstanding for their team.
  • Investigate alternative equipment and chairs for people with discomfort.
  • Provide advice to managers on ergonomics.
  • Provide ergonomic advice for office refurbishments and ergonomic equipment in production areas to reduce musculoskeletal injuries.
  • Report electronically any incidents, including near misses, on Sphera.
  • Respond and act on any action assigned on Sphera regarding ergonomics.
  • Analyse ergonomic data from all sources and formulate ergonomic interventions and improvements.
  • Work closely with the People, Health & Wellbeing team, passing on referrals as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate notes and electronic records on restricted Sharedrive, ensuring GDPR and patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Attend HSE Reps meetings as required.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
  • Proven track record of delivering DSE assessments, improvements, and working within a HSE function.
  • DSE Assessor training.
  • NEBOSH General as a minimum.
  • Formal ergonomic qualification would be an advantage.
  • Self-starter/able to work on own initiative.
  • Good at working with people at all levels.
  • Computer literate, with good understanding of MS Office packages.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Resilience, ability to work under pressure.
Desirable
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Good people skills.
  • Willingness to travel and work at other sites.
