We are seeking a Senior IT Audit Manager to join our team, reporting directly to the IT Audit Director. The successful candidate will have significant experience in IT audit and will be responsible for delivering high-quality IT audit engagements and contributing to the development of the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the IT Audit Director in developing the IT Audit strategy and planning the annual programme of work
- Delivery of specific IT audit engagements, including testing IT-dependent controls and identifying, documenting, evaluating, and testing general IT controls
- Developing quality IT Audit within the NAO, including designing and delivering training programmes for IT Audit Specialists and financial audit teams
- Assisting with the review and updating of the overall IT audit development strategy, as well as developing IT audit approaches that respond to new and emerging technologies and related risks arising from IT
- Responsible for a portfolio of IT audits, working with individual financial audit teams to scope and plan the IT audit work, and establishing and building excellent relations with audited bodies' staff
- Hands-on involvement in all aspects of the delivery of audit work, including drafting reports for both audited body staff and the financial audit team
Requirements:
- A strong academic background, preferably with an IT audit qualification (e.g. CISA)
- At least 5 years of IT audit experience at a managerial level, with a proven track record of managing a team of IT auditors and working with senior-level client IT management
- Strong technical skills on the audit of IT systems, including experience of testing IT-dependent controls and identifying, documenting, evaluating, and testing general IT controls
- A strong understanding of how IT audit supports the financial audit, as well as experience of working collaboratively with financial audit teams
Salary and Benefits:
- A competitive salary of £55,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience
- A comprehensive benefits package, including a generous pension scheme and annual leave entitlement
