About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Ward Healthcare Assistant to join our team at our Plymouth hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting the smooth running of our ward.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide safe and effective patient care, including routine monitoring and care duties such as changing bedding and assisting with personal hygiene.
  • Undertake basic nursing care practices, including catheter fitting and bag changing.
  • Set up theatres ready for patient treatment and investigate patient pathways to ensure accurate and timely care.
  • Assist with administration tasks, including collecting patient information and transporting paperwork to other departments.
  • Monitor and maintain a safe and clean environment, identifying potential hazards and reporting them to the department manager.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A natural ability to provide excellent patient care and support.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Basic Life Support (BSL) Certificate or equivalent, with a willingness to undertake additional training as required.
  • Computer literacy and the ability to use electronic patient records systems.
