Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Commissioning team as a Principal Commissioning Engineer - RTS Mechanical. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading test and commissioning activities, de-conflicting tasks, briefing teams and overseeing work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead test and commissioning activities, ensuring safe plant operation and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Deputise for the Commissioning Project Leader as required, supervising personnel on shift and ensuring the safe operation of plant.
  • Responsible for self-development and attending mandatory training requirements.
  • Carry out routine work with limited supervision, maintaining awareness of plant state and consequences of activities.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to ensure activities are undertaken in a safe and compliant manner.
  • Instruct and mentor less experienced team members, sharing knowledge and competency.
  • Responsible for research, review and feedback of documentation to the required standard.
  • Represent the Company on Contractors Sea Trials and other outworking requirements.
  • Deliver assigned activities in line with company policy, procedures and legislation.
  • Keep accurate records of work activities as required by policy, procedure and legislation.
Requirements
  • Experience of Commissioning or maintaining mechanical systems in a highly regulated industry (Oil, Gas or Nuclear).
  • Experience of working to high levels of detail, recording and reviewing results.
  • Knowledge of using test equipment and activities required for specific tests.
  • Understanding of the role and how the T&C contributes to the wider business and UK enterprise.
  • Knowledge of safety controls and procedures in a high-risk environment.
  • Experience working with high pressure systems.
  • Ability to understand complex Mechanical Systems (Drawings, diagrams, and procedures).
  • Awareness of Nuclear Site/Authorisation Conditions.
