Job Summary

Roke, a leading technology and engineering company, is seeking a skilled Software Team Lead to join our team. As a Software Team Lead, you will be responsible for leading technical teams from the front, driving novel technical approaches to mission-critical projects that keep the country safe.

This is not a traditional management role, where you will be focused on delivering performance reviews, appraisals, or sitting through disciplinary meetings. Instead, you will be working closely with our customers to solve complex and unique challenges by bringing the physical and digital worlds together.

The Key Responsibilities

  • Lead teams delivering software projects in Agile, customer-facing environments, leveraging cloud technologies (AWS/Azure/GCP), full-stack web application development, mobile applications, software as a service (SaaS), API development, or front-end development and UX.
  • Develop and implement technical strategies to drive innovation and excellence in software delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements, ensuring timely and successful project delivery.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to drive technical innovation and improvement.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience leading teams delivering software projects in Agile environments.
  • Strong technical expertise in cloud technologies, full-stack web application development, mobile applications, software as a service (SaaS), API development, or front-end development and UX.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including customers, to deliver successful projects.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.
