About the Role

Elevate Projects Ltd is seeking an experienced Interim Building Control Manager to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our projects are safe, sustainable, and meet all legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Compliance and Regulatory Management

Ensure that construction projects meet current building codes and safety regulations. Review and approve plans, designs, and specifications for new buildings, extensions, and renovations. Issue building permits and other relevant approvals.

Site Inspections and Quality Control

Conduct regular site inspections to verify that construction work complies with approved plans, safety standards, and relevant regulations. Identify potential issues or non-compliance during construction and recommend corrective actions. Ensure health and safety protocols are adhered to on-site.

Risk Management and Mitigation

Assess potential risks associated with building designs, materials, or construction methods. Ensure fire safety, structural integrity, and energy efficiency are addressed in building designs and during construction.

Communication and Stakeholder Management

Liaise with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve design or construction issues. Provide technical advice and guidance on building control matters to construction teams and developers. Act as a point of contact between the construction team and local authorities or government agencies.

Documentation and Reporting

Prepare detailed reports and maintain records of site visits, inspections, and compliance checks. Ensure proper documentation is maintained for auditing and legal purposes.

Leadership and Team Management

Manage a team of building control officers, assigning tasks, and overseeing their work. Ensure that the team is trained and up-to-date on the latest regulations, policies, and building standards.

Problem Solving and Enforcement

Address any deviations from approved plans and ensure that corrective measures are implemented. Take enforcement actions when necessary, such as issuing stop-work notices or legal action against non-compliant projects.

Sustainability and Innovation

Promote sustainable construction practices and encourage the use of energy-efficient materials and designs. Stay informed about new technologies, materials, and methods in construction and integrate them into projects where appropriate.
