Job Description

**Job Title:** Payroll Officer

**Company:** SF Recruitment (Birmingham)

**Job Type:** Full-time, 12 month fixed term contract

**About the Role:**

We are seeking an experienced payroll professional to join our team on a 12 month fixed term contract. As a Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for effectively running the monthly payroll from start to end for all employees, including an expat and pension payroll.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process all payroll activities for monthly payroll, including submissions to HMRC
  • Authorise payroll payments and communicate with HM Customs and Revenue
  • Evaluate and improve system processes
  • Administer expat payroll and tax analysis
  • Manage pension administration, including auto-enrolment and life assurance
  • Understand and apply statutory payments, including maternity, paternity, parental, and sick pay
  • Prepare and submit year-end documents, including P11D and P60's
  • Assist the Finance and HR departments as required
  • Perform ad hoc duties as specified by the Head of Finance

Requirements:

  • Good understanding of payroll procedures and rules
  • Good understanding of year-end procedures
  • Familiarity with benefits and other salary deductions
  • Strong multi-tasking abilities and ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to follow instructions and procedures well
  • Understanding of data protection and discretion
