About the Role:

The school is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with a range of learning needs, including autism, down's syndrome, speech and language challenges, and social, emotional needs. The school provides a unique, specialist environment that closely fits the needs and challenges that the students face.

Key Responsibilities:

* Support students with their academic and personal needs, promoting independence and self-confidence
* Assist teachers in delivering lessons and providing individualized support to students
* Implement effective communication techniques and strategies to support students with complex needs
* Collaborate with therapists, including SALTs, Occupational therapists, psychologists, and counsellors, to provide comprehensive support
* Develop and maintain a therapeutic curriculum that meets the needs of students, including preparation for GCSE subjects

Requirements:

* A passion for working with students with special educational needs
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
* A psychology degree or specialist SEN training is highly desirable
