Job Summary

We're looking for a skilled and compassionate individual to join our team as a Healthcare Assistant – Blood Donation. As a key member of our team, you'll play a vital role in saving and improving lives daily in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Main Responsibilities

  • Participate in training to learn how to insert needles into donors' arms to achieve blood donation units.
  • Provide exceptional care to donors throughout their donation journey, ensuring a positive experience.
  • Record and maintain accurate documentation from donors, including session records.
  • Build relationships with donors to encourage repeat donations and deliver an exceptional customer experience.
  • Ensure the safe handling and management of blood products, needles, and equipment.

About You

We're looking for someone with experience in dealing with the public, delivering quality customer service, and being willing to learn new technology skills. You'll need a good standard of numeracy and literacy, and be willing to undertake development and training to upskill yourself.

What We Offer

We provide an extensive induction and training programme, including the Skills for Health Care Certificate, which is recognised as a foundation to healthcare support throughout the NHS. You'll also have the opportunity to work variable hours and days, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, with appropriate notice of the rota.
