Housekeeping Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Housekeeping Assistant to join our team at Harrier Grange Care Home. As a key member of our care home, you will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, ensuring our residents enjoy a pleasant and well-maintained living space.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Waste Management: Empty waste bins and wash out metal wastepaper bins regularly.
  • Cleaning Tasks: Vacuum throughout the care home, spot clean floorings, and clean dining rooms, lounges, and toilets.
  • Surface Cleaning: Shake out cushions, clean taps, sinks, and soap dispenser outlets, and polish mirrors.
  • Bathroom Care: Wash all bathroom, toilet, and en-suite floors, clean toothbrush holders, and all pipework in toilets.
  • Furniture Care: Dust and polish furniture, windowsills, and handrails. Move mobile furniture to vacuum and dust beneath/behind.
  • Floor Maintenance: Wash lino floors, shampoo carpets as requested by the Home Manager, and ensure all floor surfaces are clean.
  • Additional Tasks: Dust light bulbs, curtains, pictures, and fittings. Restock toiletries, soaps, and towels as needed.
