Occupational Therapist Position at a Leading Hospital

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team at a leading hospital in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire. The successful candidate will be working with adults and older age males who require specialist inpatient services for severe and enduring mental health conditions.
Key Responsibilities- Work across our rehabilitation and recovery wards, collaborating with our two OTAs to deliver high-quality care.
- Apply OT assessments and interventions, 1-to-1 with patients and leading group work to support their engagement in the therapeutic programme.
- Support our patients to participate in activities that promote their occupational needs, working alongside psychology and nursing colleagues.
- Monitor the wellbeing of patients, referring any unusual occurrences to senior staff and documenting as necessary.
- Ensure the effective and timely updating of clinical records and computerised information systems.
- Experience of working in inpatient mental health services or a similar role would be highly desirable.
- Experience in line managing and supervising junior colleagues is also desirable, but not essential.
- Ability to take on challenges and demonstrate compassion, enthusiasm, creativity, and proactivity.
- Support from two Occupational Therapy Assistants.
- Your own OT Team office and department building, including a gym, ADL kitchen, computer room, and therapy room.
