M&E Quantity Surveyor Job Description

At Daniel Owen Ltd, we are seeking an experienced M&E Quantity Surveyor to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for managing costs related to mechanical and electrical aspects of various construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Cost Management: Prepare, negotiate, and analyze project costs and contracts to ensure accurate budgeting and financial reporting.
  2. Project Variations: Handle project variations and manage the change control process to minimize cost overruns and ensure timely project completion.
  3. Documentation: Prepare tender documents, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities, and other necessary documentation to support project delivery.
  4. Cost Analysis: Undertake cost analysis for repair, maintenance, and installation project work to ensure accurate cost estimation and budgeting.
  5. Payment and Invoicing: Value completed work and arrange payments to contractors in a timely and efficient manner.
  6. Client and Contractor Liaison: Liaise with clients, contractors, and design teams to ensure efficient delivery of projects and effective communication.
  7. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle to ensure cost control and project success.
  8. Financial Reporting: Prepare financial reports and final accounts to provide stakeholders with accurate and timely financial information.
Requirements:
  1. Experience: 5+ years of experience in Mechanical & Electrical surveying within the construction industry, with proven leadership skills in managing projects.
  2. Qualifications: Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (or equivalent experience), with RICS or other relevant professional qualifications a bonus.
  3. Skills: Proficiency in cost management software, strong Excel skills, and excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
